Man in hospital after Leeds road smash

A man was taken to hospital following a road smash in Leeds today.

Fire crews freed the casualty from a car that came off the road in Moortown and hit a tree at about 3.40am.

The incident happened at the junction of Harrogate Road and Alwoodley Lane.

Firefighters from Stanks and Cookridge stations attended.

Millennium Square and Leeds Civic Hall, Leeds City Centre.
