Man attacked at student halls of residence in Leeds

POLICE investigating an assault at a student halls of residence near Leeds city centre have released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to.

A 22-year-old man was attacked in the Opal One building on Burley Road in the early hours of Tuesday February 3.



The victim suffered two black eyes and bruising to his ears and neck.

The incident happened between 2.30am and 3am after several men entered the shared accommodation with other students and tried to enter some of the rooms.

The 22-year-old man, an occupant in the building, went to confront one the suspects and was assaulted. .

One of the suspects is described as a 6ft 1in tall Afro-Caribbean man aged 18 to 20, who had an athletic build, light coloured skin and short black hair

He was wearing a black top with lighter coloured long sleeves and black jeans.

The second suspect is a 6ft 2in tall white man aged 18 to 20. He is described as having an athletic build and light brown coloured hair. He was wearing a burgundy coloured top and blue jeans.

Det Insp David Roberts, of Leeds District CID, said: “This was a nasty assault and I would urge the public to look at the good quality CCTV images we have and contact police if they recognise either man or have any information which could assist the investigation.”
