A man armed with knives demanded cash from a petrol station cashier in an attempted robbery in Sheffield.

He struck at the Jet garage in Owler Lane, Fir Vale, at 3.15am yesterday.

South Yorkshire Police said he left empty-handed.

A description of the crook has not yet been issued.

Anyone who saw anything or knows who is responsible should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
