Man appears in court charged with kidnap and rape of teenage girl in Leeds UPDATED

A man has appeared court in Leeds charged with kidnapping and raping a teenage girl in Beeston.

Abdi Adan Hassan, 37, of Hardy View, Beeston, is charged with two counts of rape and one of kidnap against a 17-year-old.

The alleged incident, on Thursday, March 19, came nearly two weeks after an 18-year-old woman was attacked and raped in the garden of a house on Beeston Road on March 6.

Police say the two cases are not related and they are continuing to hunt the man responsible for the earlier attack.

Hassan appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court this morning.

The case was adjourned until April 22 when Hassan will appear at Leeds Crown Court.
