Kirkstall Hill has been closed today for three days of emergency gas main repair work.
Northern Gas Networks discovered faults while carrying out maintenance of the pipeline, and have now shut the road between Eden Road and Eden Drive.
The work will finish by 4pm on Sunday. During this time a diversion route will be in place via Cardigan Road and Kirkstall Lane or via Willow Road and Kirkstall Road.
Once the emergency work has been completed, work will begin on St Anne’s Lane and Burley Road.
Russell Horner from Northern Gas Networks, said:
“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during these emergency works, but we can assure residents and road users that we will complete them as safely and as a quickly as possible.”
