Creams opened at The Core shopping centre back in May 2015.

As City Buzz reported at the time, it had a focus on ‘affordable luxury,’ with furnishings including a grand piano as well as several chandeliers.

Visitors could tuck into cake pops, macarons and handmade chocolates as well as sandwiches and snacks.

But City Buzz understands the store has recently closed, along with its sister site in Huddersfield.

A spokesman for Creams said the issue was going through the courts, and for that reason they could not comment fully on the situation.

However he did say: “We are confident a Creams location will be opening in Leeds in the near future with one of the many franchisees that we have that are keen to get in to business, in line with our opening plan through the north and rest of the country.

“Current sites are opening in Bolton, Manchester, Derby, Canterbury, Newcastle, Nottingham and London.”

It’s always a shame to see businesses close and we hope the company bounces back with a new venue soon.
