They say there’s no such thing as a free lunch...but there is for workers at one of Leeds’ hottest city centre developments.

Wellington Place, off Whitehall Road, will host a lunchtime festival for employees of the various businesses in the development on September 13.

The big event, dubbed Lunch Fest, will feature street food vendors, fun activities and live music, all for free between 12pm and 2pm.

Kate Hutchinson, a spokesman for the site’s developer and manager MEPC, said: “It’s a free lunch for all the Wellington Place employees to enjoy.

“There will be street food available at the event and the workplace choir will also perform live.

“More updates will posted on our Wellington Place website closer to September.”

Wellington Place is establishing itself as a new urban quarter and is a business location of choice for some of Leeds’ leading corporate organisations.

This summer, it will welcome two more businesses – Sainsbury’s and Caffe Nero – to feed and water the growing working population in the area.

The central square is focused around the Railway Lifting Tower, which dates back to the 1850s.

The mixed-use buildings include offices, residential, retail and leisure facilities.

Once completed, the scheme will boast a total of 1.5m sq ft.

To register your place at the Lunch Fest visit A week before the event you will receive an email with a unique code, which should be brought along to guarantee entry.
