Lucky students could win £10,000 prize by cracking Leeds shopping centre’s code

Have your say

Students visiting the Merrion Centre in Leeds city centre are being given the chance to win £10,000 this week.

Any students aged 16 or over, who have a valid student card, are being urged to visit the balcony at the shopping centre from today until Friday between 1.30pm and 4.30pm.

Lucky students will be given a chance to crack the six-digit code and break into a specially prepared safe. The code has been picked by an independent adjudicator.

Susan Mendoza, Merrion Centre manager, said: “Students are a core customer for us and we like to see our centre as an essential part of their lives.

“This is our biggest student give-away ever and we’re excited to be able to offer one lucky student the opportunity to live a debt free stylish student lifestyle.

“Our competition is the ideal opportunity for us to welcome our existing young shoppers back as well as attracting new students.”

Students visiting the centre will also get the chance to participate in a ‘beat the bleep’ game, in which they can walk away with sweet treats including buns and retro sweets if they manage to beat the bleep.
