Artist Miriam Hanid led the talk on silversmithing at Temple Newsam, which is currently hosting the Showstoppers exhibition featuring historic pieces of silver alongside contemporary art.

The artist’s Deluge Dish silver artwork is among the items on display. She spoke to enthusiasts about how she created the piece, and the techniques involved in silversmithing. Other art on display includes Thomas Pitts’ 1759 ornate chinoiserie epergne and the Kirkleathem centrepiece.
