The annual appeal, which is now in its 34th year, will see hundreds of lights twinkle in memory of someone special.

People across the city are being invited to sponsor a light on a Christmas tree at The Light Shopping Centre.

And the names of those with lights dedicated to them will be listed on a roll of honour, which will take pride of place in the courtyard by the tree for the entire festive period.

A special carol service will be hosted at the shopping centre in memory of loved ones on Wednesday, December 7 at 6pm.

Donations for Light Up A Life go towards the YEP’s long-running Half and Half Appeal for the Leeds’ two hospices – St Gemma’s and Sue Ryder Wheatfields.
