Leeds's real life tiny dancer Isaac waltzes off with top national prize

The seven-year-old Leeds lad has a spring in his step after beating hundreds of dancers from around the country to scoop a top award in a prestigious national street dance competition.

The Greenhill Primary school youngster took the title of IDTA Nationwide Medallist of the Year in the Street Dance category at the finals in Stoke-on-Trent.

The keen footballer, who plays for Wortley Juniors, has danced from the tender age of four.

Isaac, who lives in Bramley, dances twice a week with DTMP School of Dance under the watchful eye of teacher Donna Pickles.

Ms Pickles, who has taught the youngster for the last three years, said although Isaac can be shy he shines when he takes to the dancefloor.

She said: “Isaac is a shy lad but his confidence is growing so much.

“Then once the music starts he shines on the dance floor”

After watching her student take the top title she told the YEP: “Isaac was an absolute little star.

“He stood out a mile on that dance floor and was a clear winner.”

Proud father Tim Bridge added: “He’s just taken it all in his stride.”

After his win, which involved a regional qualifying event in Durham, Isaac took his trophy into school to show his classmates. And his school even held a special assembly in Isaac’s honour to recognise his sporting abilities.
