Leeds's Harvey Nichols is doing Veganuary

The restaurant at Harvey Nichols has embraced the growing trend for vegan food and drink by launching its first dedicated menu.

The luxury department store said it had noticed a trend among diners asking for clean and healthier dishes so opted to try Veganuary itself.

In the Fourth Floor Café, guests can choose from dishes including warm salad, pickled vegetables, beetroot jelly, apple crisps and artichokes to start, followed by yeast-roasted cauliflower, almonds and fried potatoes.

And you don’t need to skip dessert either with these guilt free sweet offerings such as textures of plums with candied pecan nuts or poached pear, blackberries and toasted oats.

And of course you can wash it all down with a range of vegan wines or fizz.

Sue Stones, General Manager said: “With the vegan and vegetarian trend in 2017, we noticed that there was an increase in our customers choosing healthier options.

“We have created a vegan menu to promote healthier eating and showcase delicious seasonal ingredients. Great food does not have to be dependent on meat and vegan dishes can be enjoyed by all.”
