Leeds youngsters' delight at royal thanks
Youngsters at a Leeds nursery were delighted when they received a letter from The Queen thanking them for her birthday card.
The children, from Bright Horizons Leeds Day Nursery and Preschool, sent Her Majesty pictures and drawings, as well as the card, to celebrate her 90th birthday earlier this year. They also spent time talking about what The Queen does and what she might enjoy doing in her spare time. They looked at The Queen’s family tree and talked about their own families.
Fiona Stewart, from the nursery, said: “The children got a lovely surprise when they received a letter of thanks from The Queen herself. The Queen was particularly impressed with the children’s drawings of her family members.”
