Leeds woman's dream marriage proposal after starring in MTV show Beach Body SOS

A Leeds woman has lost over a stone in weight after appearing on an MTV reality show - and become engaged to her boyfriend to boot.

Georgia Keen, from Rawdon, was a contestant on Ex on the Beach: Body SOS, presented by Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison.

The 23-year-old PA originally applied to take part in the weight loss challenge programme after spotting an advert on the Yorkshire Evening Post website last year.

"I applied because I was really unhappy with myself and how I looked and I needed some help and motivation to actually do something about it. I had a big holiday coming up to the Maldives and I wanted to look amazing, and I’m guessing I did as I got engaged there!"

As part of the show, a nutritionist created a tailored diet plan for Georgia to follow, and she also took part in regular training sessions at her local gym. At the end of the series, the participants were flown to Marbella for a 'reveal' episode in the Spanish resort.

"At first it was really difficult to find the willpower to get going, especially when you expect to see results after one day; but in reality that’s not going to happen.

"I think the hardest part was that after three weeks of being in the gym every single day and eating a healthy diet that was provided by a nutritionist, I wasn’t losing weight and it really knocked my confidence - but actually the inches were dropping off me. So mentally it was quite confusing, because you need to realise it’s not all about losing weight.

"After about a week of going to the gym every day I absolutely loved it and sometimes went twice a day! There were days were I’d crave my favourite foods, like mash and gravy, but I was always good and resisted temptation and even drank no alcohol! In the end I only lost a stone which doesn’t sound much in 10 weeks, but I lost a lot inches and gained a lot of shape so I was really happy and really proud of myself. I haven’t got to my 'goal' body yet but I’ve realised these things take time and you do need to rest when your body tells you to. Patience is the key."

The show airs on Wednesdays at 8pm.
