Holly Marston, who lived in a shared house on Cardigan Road in Headingley, had told friends she had been feeling unwell in the days leading up to her death last year.

The hearing at Wakefield Coroner’s Court was told her housemates said she complained about feeling unwell throughout the morning of July 25.

Ms Marston, 27, who had been out socialising the previous night, said she believed she had been suffering from food poisoning.

At around 6.30pm that evening, Ms Marston’s housemates were together in the house.

The hearing was told that her housemates had noticed the shower had been running for a long time.

Coroner David Hinchliff told the inquest’s opening that they went to investigate and found her “in what appeared to be a collapsed state” in the bathroom.
Emergency services were called to the north Leeds property following the discovery of Ms Marston in the bathroom.

Mr Hinchliff told the court that Ms Marston was pronounced dead at 7.12pm on July 25 last year.

No members of Ms Marston’s family were present at the opening of the inquest into her death yesterday morning in Wakefield.

The short hearing was then adjourned to a later date pending the outcome of further investigations.
