Peter Schofield, a member of the Victory Hall’s management committee, said: “Our first beer festival was in 2005 and since then the formula has been adopted by many other village halls in the area, who’ve found it’s a popular fundraiser.

“We’ve helped others by loaning out the bar, pumps and racking that we’ve built up over the years. Not only are there more beer festivals, but we’ve welcomed the appearance of more small local breweries, each with slightly different and interesting brews to offer.

“In total we’ve contributed around £40,000 to the Victory Hall refurbishment funds.” The event will start at midday and runs until the barrels are drained.

Admission costs £5 on the door and includes a half-pint token and souvenir glass.
