Leeds United clean up with new sponsor name on Elland Road's West Stand

Leeds United have made a sparkling off-the-field signing as they prepare to get their new season under way this weekend.

United today announced a two-year partnership with Yorkshire-based household and laundry cleaning business Astonish.

The deal sees the company becoming the official sponsor of the John Charles West Stand at Elland Road.

Astonish has also taken a box on level four of the ground’s East Stand while its name will appear on United’s LED advertising boards and in matchday programmes.

The firm’s owner-manager, Howard Moss, said: “As a local West Yorkshire business with our roots firmly established in Leeds, we are thrilled to be partnered with Leeds United Football Club.

“Our products have always been extremely popular with shoppers throughout the local region, as well as our leading customers having their head offices based in Leeds and surrounding areas.

“With the historic centenary year for Leeds during 2019, we felt this was an exciting time to be partnered together and we are looking forward to a successful two years together.”

United executive director Paul Bell said: “Astonish are a national brand who are proud to come from our region, directly employing 70 people from the community and we are excited to welcome them to our family.

“Their branding looks fantastic across the top of the John Charles West Stand and we are excited to see our partnership with such a strong and conscientious company continue to develop over the next two seasons.”

Other stand sponsors at Elland Road over the years have included the likes of Lurpak, Hesco Bastion and Crosswater.

United’s roll call of shirt sponsors, meanwhile, includes Lion Cabinets, Top Man, Thistle Hotels, Packard Bell, Strongbow and, for their 1991-92 title-winning season, the Yorkshire Evening Post.
