The waters of Leeds Dock will be a riot of colour later this month when the spectacular Leeds Dragon Boat Race returns for the seventh year running.

This year’s event is raising funds for the Jane Tomlinson Appeal Dock and will see teams of up to 20 members – including a drummer – don fancy dress and race along a stretch of Leeds waterfront in traditional dragon boats.

Lucy Whalley, Leeds Dock Project Co-ordinator, said: “The boat race is an exciting spectacle for all involved as some experienced crews from the likes of Ward Hadaway Solicitors and the Royal Armouries Museum line up against a host of newcomers, as well as raising a lot of money for the very worthy Jane Tomlinson Appeal.”
