Leeds team makes a present of the past

Memory boxes put together by Leeds Building Society have helped people with dementia in the city to recall happy times from the past.

The communications and digital team brought together special items to help stimulate memories for visitors to Armley Grange Day Centre in Leeds, run by the Alzheimer’s Society. It follows the Society’s 140th anniversary celebrations in 2015 with the theme of ‘making memories.’

Helen Byrne, the centre’s community and day support deputy manager, said: “The boxes are fantastic. We can’t thank the Leeds team enough.” Memory box themes included the 50th anniversary of England winning the 1966 World Cup and sport in Leeds.
