He’s known for his hair-raising antics in the kitchen in more ways than one but now Leeds’ superstar chef Michael O’Hare has gone for the chop.
Gone is the large mane of hair which has become his trademark look since he leapt to fame - after achieving a Michelin star and during TV appearances on the Great British Menu - in favour of a shorter, slicker style.
Michael, the “rock and roll” chef at Leeds’ Man Behind the Curtain on Vicar Lane, has taken to Twitter to post a photo of his new-look ‘do.
Now shoulder length and swept back, the restaurateur wrote: “The hair has gone....” - to a shocked reaction from his followers.

Michael will tonight be seen in the grand finale of BBC Two’s Great British Menu cooking up the fish course for the centenary banquet of the Women’s Institute.
Thursday’s episode saw his squid ink cod dish selected by the judges to make the four-course banquet after a hotly-contested week of cooking among the chefs who won the regional heats.
Judge Prue Leith described his fish dish as “really brilliant” and, after tasting his dessert on Thursday - which eventually came third - she also added O’Hare was “the rock and roll star of this competition.”
Tonight’s episode, which airs at 7pm, will show O’Hare cooking alongside fellow chefs Rich Bainbridge and Matt Gillan at London’s historic Drapers Hall.
