Leeds street attack - witnesses sought

Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed during an attempted street robbery in Pudsey.

The 19-year-old was walking along Carlisle Road at about 11pm last Thursday when he was confronted by two men - one white and one Asian - who demanded his I-pod and threatened to stab him.

The victim said that he punched the Asian man in the face when he lunged at him, and the other then stabbed him in the chest and in the side.

The pair ran off empty handed towards Fartown.

The victim was treated at Leeds General Infirmary for his injuries and discharged the next day.

The Asian man is said to be aged in his twenties with a heavy squat build, short hair and a local accent. He was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark top. He may have a black eye from being punched.

The white man is also said to be aged in his twenties, but thinner, with short hair, a puffy face and a bulbous nose. He was wearing a grey top, with the brand name Gio-Goi written on the front, and a pair of matching grey Gio-Goi tracksuit bottoms.

Anyone with information is urged to call 0845 6060606.
