Converging Data has come up with an easy-to-use business intelligence tool of the same name that can analyse real-time data from multiple sources.

It aims to give NHS bosses an end-to-end view of how a hospital or other organisation is operating and where problems need to be ironed out.

That end-to-end view could help a manager see that delays in an A&E department are not down to a lack of frontline resources but are in fact being caused by issues further down the care pathway such as a shortage of beds.

The startup’s co-founder, former health informatics professional Neil Murphy, told Digital City: “Converging Data gives healthcare managers a real-time view of what is happening across a service, via dashboards that can track anything from admissions and discharges to transfers of patients between wards and services.

“Unlike other business intelligence tools, our approach is platform-agnostic and does not take your data outside your organisation.

“It can also handle requests ‘on the fly’ and does not need to have questions pre-programmed into it.”

Based on the internationally-recognised big data platform Splunk, Converging Data is now seeking customers in UK hospital trusts and NHS organisations.

The YEP recently launched a new Digital City platform in partnership with Sky Betting & Gaming.

The platform is designed to highlight the giant strides being made by a sector that boasts around 3,000 organisations in Leeds.
