An 11-year-old aspiring singer from Leeds will join an X Factor star on stage when her tour visits Yorkshire.
Sam Bailey, who won the 2013 series of the TV talent show, has chosen Jessica May Frost as her supporting act for a gig at the York Barbican theatre on March 25.
Jessica’s mum Carroll Frost said: “Jessica showed a passion for singing when she was only a toddler, she knew every word to every Disney song and sang them with great emotion and confidence.
“Unfortunately, Jessica was very poorly as a young child and was in and out of hospital for a long time.
“She had a range of development issues and her social skills were severely affected causing Jessica to become extremely introverted.
“It was through singing, that she became a different child. She struggled with words and sentences however could sing every song on the TV and radio.
“Her nursery teachers said she rarely spoke but was always singing for them!”
Each tour date from prison guard turned chart-topping singer Sam will offer a moment in the limelight to a less established vocalist while she promotes new album Sing My Heart Out.
She said: “For me, nothing is more rewarding than getting the chance to share my music with my fans live. Barbican is such a terrific venue, and I’ve always had such great support from my Yorkshire fans, I’m really looking to giving them my thanks by giving them an incredible live show.”
