VISITORS TO Leeds’s Royal Armouries museum can have a real blast this summer.

A packed programme of events, talks and activities is running at the museum from next Saturday, July 26, through to August 31.

Regular attractions will include a hands-on armourer’s workshop and have-a-go sword fighting sessions.

Visitors will also be able to watch dramatic reconstructions of everything from Wild West gun battles to rapier duels.

A celebration of the world of science fiction and superheroes will take place on August 12, 13 and 14.

Visitor experience manager Rachael Bevan said: “There will always be something different to see at the museum this summer, come rain or shine.

“We have something to appeal to all ages and people from all walks of life, making it an exciting and informative day out for all the family.”

Admission to the museum is free, although charges apply for some events. For more information, visit the www.royalarmouries.org website.
