Leeds restaurant link-up raises the barre

An Indian restaurant has teamed up with the Academy of Northern Ballet in a bid to encourage the city's Asian community to enjoy ballet.

Prashad in Drighlington, which serves vegetarian dishes from the sub-continent, will provide the catering during the Northern Ballet’s free dance workshops in West Yorkshire’s schools.

They will supply healthy meals to pupils from Warwick Road Primary School in Batley to kick-start the partnership, which has also seen the owners of family-run Prashad advise the Northern Ballet on Asian culture so that more communities can engage with the discipline. Participants in the classes will be able to take home recipe cards.
