City centre Spanish themed restaurant, Pintura Kitchen is celebrating its third birthday by launching a new bar.The Pintxos Bar takes its name from the Spanish phrase for bar snacks and will be serving up just that alongside some super size gin and tonics in the basement of the Trinity Centre eaterie from next Thursday.

It is inspired by Executive chef Greg Lewis’ research trips to San Sebastian, known as the culinary capital of Europe with the highest concentration of Michelin stars in the world.

Each pintxos is made using imported Spanish produce with seasonal ingredients to give a British twist on traditional Basque recipes.

He said: “Pintxos is synonymous with Basque culture and we are delighted to present our own dedicated Pintxos Bar to Yorkshire’s diners as we celebrate our third anniversary. The menu features some truly exceptional produce and Spanish delicacies in keeping with the cooking styles of the Basque region.”
