Leeds pub turns into set for new feature film

SOME VIP customers have been spotted at a city centre pub - as it was turned into the set of a major new feature film.

Actor Paul Barber - best known for playing Denzil Tulser in Only Fools and Horses - could be seen filming scenes at The Midnight Bell on Water Lane alongside fellow Liverpudlian TV star Ricky Tomlinson, who was spotted inside.

It is understood they were filming for ‘Gloves Off’ - a British comedy about boxing, written and directed by Steven Nesbit.

The film also stars Matt Barber, of Downton Abbey fame and Alan Ford - best known for Guy Ritchie’s Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.

Gloves Off also stars Denise Van Outen who has taken to Twitter since arriving in Leeds - posting a picture of a pub dartboard with the message: “Playing darts between takes on the set of ‘Gloves Off’ Leeds”.
