Leeds photo essay: Art work in frame for 170th anniversary

Leeds college of Art's crafty collection is in the frame for a special birthday celebration.

The college, which marks 170 years, is showcasing art works from final year students as part of its Made Here exhibition.

The college will be transformed into a huge exhibition hall that will showcase sculptures, prints, animations, photography, illustrations and much more.

Simone Wonnacott, principal of Leeds College of Art, said: “We are extremely proud of our significant history and heritage as a leading specialist art school.

“Visitors can even purchase artwork at the ‘art market’ which will be run by students.

“Our 170th anniversary is an exciting year.”

The exhibition is on display until Thursday, June 16.
