Leeds nostalgia: Celebs in March

Lots of famous people have been here in March and in 1989 it was the Monkees who visited the Harrogate Conference Centre.

Actress Jessie Matthews who had been in many a thirties film signed books in 1974 and it was the skiing Bell brothers Martin and Graham who shook hands with Harrogate Mayor Douglas Muscroft in 1988.

American actress Gloria Swanson spoke of her concern about drugs and juvenile crime in 1981 and Ilkley Moor was the setting for our photographer when he met boxer Richard Dunn for a training run prior to his bout with Muhammad Ali in 1976.

The training did not bear fruits. Ali knocked Dunn out in five rounds.
