In 1984 much loved comic actor Roy Kinnear popped in to Allerton Grange Middle School for a spot of storytelling (1) while he was appearing at the Grand Theatre. Shirley Ann Field, star of Saturday Night and Sunday Morning was also there making up in 1970 (2).

They came from all over the globe to play at Batley Varieties and Jayne Mansfield diverted to Armley Jail in 1967 to appear for the inmates (3).

In 1991 we took this superb portrait of Kray brothers enforcer Tony Lambrianou when he was at the Crowne Plaza Holiday Inn (4) and in 1972 Davy Jones (5) of the Monkees was in Leeds and said that he wanted “a farm in Yorkshire with a couple of nice show jumpers”.
