Leeds nightclub 'still open' after misunderstanding over closure

A Leeds nightclub which was served with an eviction notice has confirmed it remains open after describing the incident as a 'misunderstanding' with the landlord.

Revellers were shocked when VIP lounge Kudeta on Assembly Street appeared to have shut suddenly earlier this month, only a year after opening.

A sign was seen attached to the door of the club's Waterloo House premises - formerly Syn nightclub - stating that bailiffs had entered the building at the request of the landlord and that the lease had been forfeited.

But manager Martin Najevwe has now clarified that the venue remains open following a 'misunderstanding' with the building's owners.

He said everything was 'business as usual' at the club.

Kudeta specialises in Afrobeats and hosts music nights on Fridays and Saturdays.
