Leeds nightclub revamp leads to job opportunities

twenty new jobs are being created at a Leeds nightclub which is undergoing a half a million pound refurbishment.

Night club and bar operator, The Deltic Group, is introducing a retro vinyl experience and Polynesian inspired Lua Lalai Tiki cocktail bar at Pryzm nightclub in time for the second May bank holiday weekend.

The new bars will create 20 extra jobs at the Woodhouse Lane club, both full time and part time positions, from working behind the bar to reception, promotional and cloakroom assistants.

General manager Gavin McQueen, who has worked in the industry for over 17 years and started as a glass collector, said: “Previous experience isn’t necessary but what we do want are people who are fun, enthusiastic and energetic, who aren’t afraid of hard work and willing to learn.

“Working in clubs is fantastic fun and we’re looking for people prepared to work long hours, be part of a team, enjoy great rewards and are excited by the chance to build a fulfilling career.”

A launch party for the new look Pryzm is being held on Friday May 25 with a host of favourite reality TV stars.

DJ, Pat Sharp, the 80s TV presenter, will play pop classics and guilty pleasures in the new Vinyl room (formerly Disco).

He will be joined by Made in Chelsea’s Alex Mitten, who will perform a DJ set in the main room of Pryzm while his fellow Chelsea star, Sam Thompson, parties with fans.

On Saturday May 26, music producer and DJ Marvin Humes will be taking to the decks in the main room, and Love Island’s Chris Hughes will meet guests on Sunday May 27.
