Schools in the area to close:

Bradford Council has confirmed that a local school will be closed today due to the fire.

Train cancellations to Leeds and Manchester - details in full:

Trains are unable to run to and from Bradford Interchange.

Some trains will be cancelled in full or be diverted.

The Manchester Victoria line towards Leeds:

The 54 or 58 minutes past the hour service from Manchester Victoria will be cancelled.

The 17 or 19 minutes past the hour service from Manchester Victoria will be diverted.

It will NOT call at Low Moor, New Pudsey or Bramley.

Leeds line to Manchester Victoria - The 12 minutes past the hour service departing Leeds will be cancelled. 

The 42 minutes past the hour service departing Leeds will be diverted, not calling at Bramley, New Pudsey, Bradford Interchange and Low Moor.

The York and Blackpool North lines towards Leeds - These services will be diverted where possible or will be cancelled.

They will NOT call at New Pudsey or Bramley.

Between Halifax and Hull - These services will run between Leeds and Hull, (cancelled between Halifax and Leeds), not calling at Halifax, Bradford Interchange, New Pudsey and Bramley.

Further school closures confirmed

Bradford Council has confirmed that Bronte Girls Academy, Rainbow Primary and Dixons City Academy will be closed today.

Network Rail have shared a photgraph showing how close the fire is to the tracks.

100 firefighters still on the scene - latest pictures:

West Yorkshire fire and Rescue service confirmed at 8.45am that about 100 firefighters are still on the scene.

They are continuing to ask local residents to please keep windows & doors closed.

People in Bierley, Westgate Hill and Tong asked to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke from the tyre fire

Latest from Northern Rail - cancellations expected until tomorrow

"Train services running through this station will be cancelled or diverted. Disruption is expected until the end of the day on 17/11/20.

"Our advice to our customers:

"Due to a fire next to the railway line at Bradford Interchange all train services running through this station have been cancelled or diverted. Due to the size of the fire and the materials involved the fire brigade advise they are unable to extinguish it in the short term and the focus is on containment. Services are expected to be cancelled for the duration of the day, this is subject to change as further assessments are carried out.

“Ticket acceptance is in place with Transpennine Express between Manchester and Leeds until further notice.

“Passengers travelling between Bradford and Leeds are advised to go to/from Bradford Forster Square as this route is not affected.”
