Leeds MP joins production of Oliver!

Have your say

A musical MP has made his stage debut in a Guiseley production of Oliver!

Stuart Andrew, MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough, joined performers at Guiseley Theatre, in The Green, during Guiseley Amateur Operatic Society rehearsals.

Mr Andrew was invited by show director Jay Cundall Walker and musical director Cathy Sweet to take part in the opening scene, where he was guided by Mr Bumble to make his entrance as children sang the ‘Food Glorious Food’ anthem.

Oliver! runs at the theatre from Monday February 24 to Saturday March 1.

The Saturday matinee is now almost sold out and tickets for other evenings are selling quickly.

Visit www.gaos.co.uk or call 0113 2506434 for tickets, which cost from £10 to £14, or for further information.
