Leeds: Motorcyclist in hospital after collision with police patrol car

A biker was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a police car on patrol in Leeds.

Professional Standards investigators are looking into the incident, which happened on Monday evening on York Road.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman told the YEP: “At around 4.45pm on Wednesday a roads policing vehicle on routine patrol was in collision with a motorcyclist on York Road between the Thorner Lane and Scholes Lane junctions on the eastbound carriageway.

“The 19-year-old male rider of the motorcycle was taken to the Leeds General Infirmary with serious but non-life threatening injuries.”

Police closed the road for around four hours.
