A McDonald's outlet in Leeds has begun selling a new range of gourmet burgers with boxes designed by fashio icon Julien MacDonald.

The restaurant on Butt Lane in Bramley, which is operated by local franchisee Saj Shah, held a VIP event so customers could trial The Signature Collection and take home their own luxe burger box.

The fast food outlet was given a makeover with black carpets, a golden throne and waiting staff in black tie for the occasion.

“To be able to bring the bespoke box made by designer Julien Macdonald to Bramley, was such a delight. I am so pleased that we could invite so many of our customers into the restaurant to experience elements of the luxury launch, and of course, taste The Signature Collection. The feedback so far has been phenomenal and I hope everyone that came along enjoyed themselves, and the very limited edition box they took away!” said Mr Shah.

The fashion designer was commissioned to design glamorous new packaging for the luxury burger range, which include embellishment and bespoke digital print.

The burgers have the thickest patties on the menu and are made with 100 per cent beef.
