Leeds man in the running for a picture perfect prize

East Leeds man Jagdeep Singh's photographic talents have put him in the frame to win a competition organised by holiday rental provider Snaptrip.com.

The firm recently asked people to send in the best photos they had taken over the course of the summer and, after a public vote, Jagdeep’s shot of his back garden in Cross Gates was named in the top 10 entries.

The 28-year-old university research scientist said: “When I crouched down to take a photo of the flower, I noticed the sun setting in the background, so I tried to capture both the sunset and the flower in one shot.

“My photography is inspired by simplicity. It’s my belief that taking notice of simple things in life brings you happiness.”

A group of judges now has the task of deciding which of the finalists wins the competition and its first prize of an autumn getaway at a cottage in Devon.
