Leeds man killed in North Yorkshire road crash

A Leeds man has been killed in a road crash in North Yorkshire.

Police named the man who died in the crash on the A168 near the Marton cum Grafton turn-off between Boroughbridge and Wetherby as Vince Ivor Chadwick, 61, from Stanningley, Pudsey.

The accident on Saturday, December 11, involved a Renault driven by Mr Chadwick towards Boroughbridge and a Citroen 4 going the opposite way containing a man and a woman from Ripon.

The Citroen's injured woman passenger was flown by air ambulance to Harrogate District Hospital and the injured male driver went by road ambulance to the same hospital.Earlier police appealed for witnesses or anyone who saw the vehicles prior to the incdent.

They were also seeking anyone who travelled along the A168 from Allerton Park to Boroughbridge between 6am and 8am, particularly a van driver believed to have hit the central barrier prior to the accident.
