Leeds man dies after vehicle crash at roundabout

A Leeds man has died following a single vehicle crash at a roundabout near Harrogate.

The driver, who was in his fifties, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision at the roundabout with the A61 and A658 on Saturday. (May 17)

The silver BMW 1 series, which was travelling towards Knaresborough, left the road and came to rest in a hedge at the Buttersyke Bar roundabout just after 4pm.

The identity of the man, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, has not been released.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash and to anyone who saw the BMW prior to the collision, to contact them.

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
