Once a Yorkshire Bank, the colourful cafe in Kirkgate now features a cat snug, bespoke runs and what is said to be the UK’s largest cat scratching post.

There are large windows to show off the cats to passers-by and an air conditioning unit to maintain a feline-friendly temperature.

The full interior was designed by CPMG Architects.

Cafe owner Kate Charles-Richards said: “CPMG brought fantastic ideas to the table which made the new café even better than we had imagined.”

Kate and husband Oliver find cats from rescue centres, train them for four weeks and then welcome them to the cafe, where they enjoy strokes and cuddles from customers.
