inspirational female musicians are being put into the spotlight by a Leeds charity.

Getaway Girls has teamed up with Leeds Museums and Galleries to teach vulnerable women, who the charity supports, about positive role models.

They focused on female singers who fly the flag for girl power including Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Annie Lennox, Adele and Beyonce.

They were also given the chance to meet Leeds singers including Hannah Trigwell.

The team have then created a photography and art exhibition called Women in Music.

The striking collection, which is on display until September, was launched at Leeds City Museum last night by Capital FM radio presenter JoJo. Getaway Girls support around 400 vulnerable women a year from across the city.

TOTALLY WILD: The Maasai Mara.
