Leeds Gilbert and Sullivan Society moves away from its roots

Have your say

Leeds’ Gilbert and Sullivan society is branching out with its next production.

The company, which believes it is the oldest Gilbert and Sullivan company in the UK, will perform Kiss Me, Kate at The Carriageworks Theatre from March 21 to 25. The show will begin at 7.30pm, except on Saturday 25 when the performance will be at 4.30pm. Tickets start from £8, and are available from 0113 376 0318.

The group is trying something different to boost ticket sales due to a declining universal interest in Gilbert and Sullivan shows.

The society will return to its roots with Trial By Jury at Tingley Methodist Church on May 20.
