A BLANKET of fog shrouded Leeds today, with forecasters warning it was unlikely to clear before nightfall.
The unexpected mist descended on the city mid-morning, bringing the threat of traffic disruption later.
The Met Office is predicting extensive fog for much of the day, with only limited brighter intervals.
It should be mainly dry, although the odd spot of light rain is possible at times.
Tonight it will remain cloudy, with extensive hill fog.
Some patchy light rain remains possible, perhaps becoming heavier in the west towards the morning.
Wednesday will see a cloudy start to the day, with spells of rain throughout the day before clearing by the evening.
The rest of the week will see patches of rain move in, separated by drier and cloudy interludes.
It will generally stay mild, with southeasterly winds.
