A LEEDS firm is the latest beneficiary of a scheme launched to help businesses bounce back from the effects of the Christmas floods.
Kirkstall Road-based manufacturer and joiner Chippendale Projects has received a grant from the Leeds City Region Business Recovery Fund.
Set up by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and managed by the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, the fund has had applications totalling £1.3m – with 90 per cent being approved.
Chippendale Projects general manager Jamie Hacker said: “The impact of the floods was devastating. At midnight on Boxing Day our workshop and offices were five feet under water, it was surreal. We were overwhelmed by what had happened.
“We will use the funding to move into a new property, buy new machinery and repair damaged machinery.”
