Thousands of people are preparing to take on a Tough Mudder style challenge on the outskirts of Leeds this Sunday.
Around 2,500 fitness fanatics will tackle the Major Series, run by British Military Fitness, in the stately grounds of Bramham Park.
The gruelling race covers between 10k and 12k and features a host of obstacles including muddy bogs, river crossings, a spider’s web and chilling ice crawl.
Tiffany Creasey, event manager for BMF, said: “At this time of year there’s no shortage of mud. There’s quite a bit of open running then you hit a series of bogs all in a row, so that saps your energy.”
The fastest competitor is expected to finish in around 50 minutes.
