The 33-strong team from Leeds-based First Direct took on the challenge as part of their backing of the Yorkshire Evening Post’s A Million for Maggie’s appeal. They raised £3,833 towards construction of a Maggie’s centre at St James’s Hospital in Leeds, which will provide free support for people with cancer. Tracy Garrad, chief executive of First Direct, said: “The chance to hot foot it over burning coals was a challenge of a lifetime for some of our people and I’m pleased to report the only incidents were dirty feet.”
