Films and photographs of the eight-year cultural project that has breathed new life into one of south Leeds’ most iconic landmarks are set to go on display.
The Temple Works Leeds: Legacy Exhibition will delve into the recent history of the Temple Works Cultural Project, which has embraced the heritage of the building and helped it to stage artists and performers since 2009.
The exhibition will take place at the Room 700 Arts Space in Leeds Central Library from August 27 to September 7.
The Grade 1-listed Victorian former flax mill features what used to be the largest room in the world and has a facade modelled on the Temple of Horus at Edfu in Egypt.
Temple Works is at the centre of development plans by fashion brand Burberry. The firm aims to open a £50million site at the historic mill by 2019, creating 200 jobs.
