Leeds curry house which was a winner with YEP readers, scoops new award

The Grand Indian Lounge – which earlier in the year bagged second place in this paper’s Curry House of the Year competition – was crowned best restaurant in West Yorkshire at the recent Curry Life Awards.

Customers and food critics voted in its favour.

Staff from the restaurant on Wakefield Road, Swillington, accepted their award at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

Manager Imran Choudhury said: “They thought the food was very well-presented and the flavours worked well with the menu that’s created by me. They said that it’s very tasty. We won it last year as well so we was not expecting to win it this year.

“We make the restaurant have more of a homely feel.”
