RAPPERS, DJs and dancers came together to celebrate the vibrant history of hip hop at Leeds City Museum this weekend.

As well as live performances from local and national artists including Iqwon and DMW, the museum hosted workshops, DJ sets and performances from young dancers.

The event celebrated 43 years of positive hip hop culture and follows on from a similar event last year.

Leeds Museums and Galleries assistant curator of community history Marek Romaniszyn, who helped organise the event, said: “Hip hop has permeated so many aspects of our society, so it’s important that we recognise the impact it’s had.”
