Leeds City College ice rink: students get their skates on to celebrate end of term

LEEDS City College staff and students have been celebrating the end of term with an ice rink at the Printworks Campus on Hunslet Road.

College chiefs organised for the ice rink to be set up for a week as a reward for students’ hard work.

The ice rink was sponsored by Wates Construction, who are developing the college’s new campus at Quarry Hill.

Gavin Batty, Printworks campus head, said: “We have been so impressed with students’ development and achievements over the past academic term that we wanted to give something back.

“Following the success of Party at the Printworks last summer, we thought a wintery Christmas Party at the Printworks would be a great way to celebrate.

“As well as the ice rink, everyone can enjoy a snow machine, music and festive food at the new restaurant.

“These successes wouldn’t have been possible without our excellent staff so it’s an opportunity for them to take a step back and enjoy themselves too.

“We’re looking forward to the term ahead and will continue to recognise the fantastic work of our staff and students.”
